WebAnimal traps only work with vermin, IIRC. I'd instead put cage traps near the tunnels between your deep mine and main production fort, since that's where they head off to. I don't know the exact science behind it, but gremlins are pretty rare. Most forts never encounter one ever, so you may just have to wait it out. WebAug 5, 2010 · You can dig out a room with a hole in the ceiling, designate that hole as a Pit zone, and assign the goblins to that pit. Your dwarves will throw them into that hole. I've found that thieves have a pretty good chance of escaping, but the others won't.

You don't need to capture a Demon or Forgotten Beast in a cage trap to start a silk farm - all you need to do is trap it in an area such that it can shoot its webs but not otherwise bother you.
