Anyways just wondering who would be interested in a how to: thread on this. Since Ive already done the mod it will be hard to do it step by step but I will take it... WebMay 7, 2024 · Just got back from the Toyota dealer (The only one within an hour drive) for our 2500 mile checkup and I mentioned that the rear gate basically needs to be slammed to shut all the way. Tech “looked” at it and gave it a 100% working as intended. Then I showed the manager how 4 out of 5 times it would not shut all the way.

WebJun 4, 2008 · It is just a very thin wire attached to the solenoid and is only about 10 inches long. Stick your fingers up there and fish it out and give it a pull and the hatch should open. Once I got it open I took a small bolt with a nut and 2 washers and sandwiched the cable between the washers and tightened the nut.
